Pride Month Lecture Series Presents: Gabriel Sanchez

South Texas College Libraries proudly presents Pride Month Lecture Series Guest Speaker, Gabriel Sanchez.

Gabriel Sanchez is a native of the Rio Grande Valley who grew up in Starr and Hidalgo Counties. He has a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Sociology from Marlboro College in Vermont. For the past three years, Gabriel has been conducting research and collecting oral history interviews on the history of the Rio Grande Valley’s LGBTQIA+ communities and the activism, social spaces, stories, and art important to this community. Gabriel is currently collaborating with One Scene Studios to create Pansy Pachanga- a documentary film on the history of the Valley’s LGBTQIA+ community set to be released in 2019.

Please join us, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the Pecan Campus Library Rainbow Room  for a presentation at 1:30 pm, and on Thursday, June 20,  2019 at the Mid-Valley Campus Library at 11:00 am.
