Deadline to submit artwork: July 31, 2023
The South Texas College Library Art Gallery is hosting a call for artists to submit artwork on the theme of economics and money! For inspiration, we look to Oxford-trained economist E. F. Schumacher’s “Small is Beautiful: Economics as if People Mattered,” celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023. This New York Times bestseller teaches us that economic growth must be responsibly balanced with the needs of communities and the environment. Small is Beautiful is listed as one of the Times Literary Supplement’s 100 Most Influential Books since World War II.
Artists are invited to create and display original artwork for an exhibition at the STC Pecan Campus Library Art Gallery August 28 – December 7, 2023. There will be a reception and awards ceremony on October 4, 2023, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. where participants will get a chance to win first, second, and third place. Participation is free and open to the public. ARTWORKS MUST INCORPORATE THE COLOR GOLD. The deadline to submit artwork is July 31 at 5:00 p.m.
To participate, please complete this ENTRY FORM and deliver your artwork to:
