STC Alumni Annual Exhibition: Ricky Sullivan & Andrew Guerra

STC Library Art Gallery Announces Annual Alumni Exhibition Series

Reception: November 11, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the STC Technology Campus Library (A-179)

The South Texas College Library Art Gallery is pleased to present its annual STC Alumni Series, highlighting the creative and academic achievements of former students Andres Guerra and Ricky Sullivan.

Both artists began their academic journeys at South Texas College, earning their associate degrees while studying under ceramics instructor Chris Leonard. They have since continued their education at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Guerra is pursuing a degree in political science with plans to attend law school. He works with the STC Police Department and creates ceramic works that explore themes of protest and civic engagement.

Sullivan, a U.S. Army veteran, earned a Master of Fine Arts degree and now teaches art, mentoring the next generation of students.

Using clay as a medium for storytelling, both artists create works that reflect their lived experiences. Through the use of varied patterns and glazes, their ceramics communicate personal narratives and cultural perspectives.

An opening reception is scheduled for Nov. 11, 2026, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the STC Technology Campus Library.

The exhibition will be on view June 1 through Dec. 1, 2026, at the STC Technology Campus, 3700 W. Military Highway, Building A-179, McAllen.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The STC Library Art Gallery Program organizes exhibitions and educational programs to enhance student understanding of art, support the curriculum and inspire continued education through engagement with artists and original works.
