- Printing Guidelines
The Library Services provides FREE printing for all clients. It is required that users be responsible and print only what is absolutely necessary and required for academic purposes. We ask that users adhere to the following guidelines when printing:
- Always print preview your documents and make sure corrections are made before sending documents to the printer.
- Do not use the printer as a copier. If you need multiple copies, please print one copy of your document in the lab and use the copy machine in the library for additional copies.
- When printing from the Internet, try to copy and paste the section you need to a document.
- Use a small font when possible.
- When printing presentations, please print the outline view or print six slides to a page.
In order to provide better service, we ask users to please report problems with the equipment to the Open Labs staff immediately. Open Labs staff are the only persons who should service the computers and printers, including toner and paper replacement.
- JagPrint
JagPrint is a web-based print management system that allows print monitoring and promotes more efficient use of print resources. The online system allows South Texas College to monitor and allocate printing quotas. JagPrint provides the following benefits:
- JagPrint facilitates the reduction of paper waste by allowing users to manage their printing more effectively, which helps to minimize a negative impact on the environment. The system allows users to see their environmental impact at-a-glance with the Paper-Less Alliance widget (a small application that sits on the desktop).
- JagPrint allows the College not only to effectively track and manage printing costs but also proactively contribute to promoting a green environment.
Web Print
Documents can be sent directly from a personal wireless device, such as a smartphone or laptop, to any JagPrint station. All CLEs, libraries, and Open Labs have JagPrint stations, as well as many buildings throughout campus.
To send printouts from your personal device, please connect to the on-campus wireless network (Jaguar or Eduroam) and visit the following link to upload your documents:

- Print Credits
JagPrint uses print credits to track user printouts. One single-page printout uses .05 credits. For example, 1.00 credits = 20 printouts. Students, faculty, and staff will receive an initial allocation of 25.00 credits (500 single-page printouts) per semester. When a user logs into a lab computer, JagPrint displays the available credits for that account. Users can also visit JagPrint from
any personal device that is connected to the on-campus wireless network to see their available credits.
Check Your Print Credit Amount
Students, faculty, and staff may request additional credits through our online form.
- You may not request additional credits until your balance is below 2.50.
- Print credits are granted in increments of 100.
- Requests that do not include a JagNet username and STC email will not be processed.
- Credits are generally refilled within 1-3 business days of the request submission.
