The Library Collections

The Library collects and organizes information resources to support the academic needs of STC students and faculty. Holdings include more than 110,000 print titles, subscriptions to more than 450 periodicals, and more than 7,500 video and audio recordings.

The Library welcomes student and faculty suggestions on ways to improve our collections.  The community is invited to suggest items for purchase.

Lending

STC students, faculty, and staff are all entitled to library services, which we also extend to Alumni Association members and to the community at large. Though borrowing privileges for students and others are not automatic, they are easy to activate - see the Library Card page for details.

Inter-Library Loan

Students and faculty can request materials from other libraries through the Library's inter-library loan service. STC belongs to two inter-library loan consortia - OCLC and TexShare - enabling our patrons to receive library materials from all over the the United States.  Most requests can be filled in 7 to 10 days.

Library Orientations

The Library invites faculty members to sign up their classes for hands-on orientations to our collections and services. We will be happy to design programs around the needs of particular classes.

Texshare

STC participates in the TexShare Card program which allows faculty and students to borrow materials from other participating libraries, including UT Pan American. Cards are available at each Campus Library.
