Accessing the Pecan Library orientation schedule
The schedule for library orientation sessions at Pecan Library is visible to faculty and staff with an STC email account. It resides in a Public Folder accessible through the Outlook mail program on your office computer and also via the webmail client typically used from off-campus machines.
Office Computer
If you don't see the Public Folder near the bottom of your Folder List at left, look to the icons in the lower left-hand corner:
The small manila folder icon (Folder List) in the bottom-left corner is where you'll click to expose the folders:
Open up the Public Folders by clicking on the + sign at left (or by double-clicking the words), and then do the same with All Public Folders. There you'll see several calendar files; ours is PCN Library Orientations:
Click there to see one version of the calendar. Choose a time span near the top menu bar to vary your view:
You can move ahead in time by using the vertical scroll bar at right when you're in the weekly or monthly views.
Webmail
If you read your email using the Web interface, you can also use it to view calendars in the Public Folders.
Note that Microsoft Outlook Web Access mail looks and behaves differently from one browser to another. Firefox and Safari display the Public Folders link in plain sight in the left-hand column, though their calendar views don't offer a Monthly option. The instructions below show what users of Internet Explorer 7 see.
There is a set of icons in the lower left-hand corner:
Find the icon that resembles a tray of manila file folders, and click it.
Doing so will spawn a new window listing the Public Folders in its left-hand column. Click on PCN Library Orientations. The large frame at right will show the current day's schedule. You can view the current week or month using the toggle icons in the top menu bar, or use the right-hand calendar to select particular dates. You can scroll ahead to future months using the arrow icons beside the name of the month.
In the weekly or monthly views you'll be able to see each day's events at a glance. Moving your cursor over any event, or clicking on it, will show further details.
